Day 1

At the airport
On Monday 22 July we are finally on our way to Vietnam for a two week break, after a day's delay in Sydney due to a Visa problem.

We Finally made it out of Ho Chi Minh City airport almost 3 hours after we arrived.

Quan Bui restaurant
Fortunately, we made the connection for the pick up to Hotel Meridian and booked in.

We had missed the complimentary welcome dinner the night before and an evening meal wasn’t included in our booking, so we went to a local restaurant for dinner recommended by the hotel called Quan Bui.

Although, it appeared to be mainly aimed at tourists, it did have an interesting menu. Because we were not too hungry, we ordered a mixed entree platter, and a very interesting dish, which consisted of raw and pickled vegetables, wrapped in mustard greens (leaves), topped with a prawn - was delicious.

We were pretty tired, after being awake for almost 18 hours and having to deal with the stress at the airport, so it was back to the hotel and into bed.
